The Role of a BRYTE Manufacturing Test Engineer:

We are looking for an individual to take ownership of the manufacturing assembly process for the BRYTE Bed.  The Manufacturing Test Engineer will be responsible for driving high product quality, maintaining delivery commitments, and reducing product cost.  To achieve these goals this person must be able to work effectively cross functionally and with external suppliers to drive results.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Ability to drive product test systems from concept to implementation while meeting product specifications, test coverage, and manufacturing requirements
  • Able to interface with software development teams to determine testing specifications and protocols
  • Develop and maintain, improve production procedures, shop layout, standard work, etc...
  • Support production cycle time improvements to meet takt-time requirements
  • Technical direction and monitoring of suppliers and contractors used
  • Design, specify, and track tooling and equipment as per Quality, Cost and Lead-time target
  • Lead and coordinate the activities to support existing engineering projects and coordinate new engineering projects to apply design for manufacturing/test standards
  • Must act as a liaison between the manufacturing and engineering depts. which includes trouble shooting assembly and design issues
  • Justify equipment costs and understand how to reduce product cost
  • Implementation of worksite continuous improvement through Kaizen events
  • Collection, analysis, and reporting of various data for the company
  • Must be a team player and solution driven
  • Flexible work schedule
  • Travel as required – 30% of time

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, (Electrical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical) or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 5 years in electronics preferred, relevant Manufacturing experience will be considered.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt preferred
  • Demonstrated capability in Equipment design
  • Advanced mechanical aptitude
  • Strong knowledge of Manufacturing processes
  • Project Management experience
  • Working knowledge of continuous improvement practices; 5S, TPM, SMED, VSM
  • Troubleshooting ability

Competencies and Abilities

  • Takes Initiative
  • Strong electrical and mechanical equipment design knowledge
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, MS Project 2010, Visio, Arena, Solid Works a plus
  • Qualified candidate must have the ability to respond positively to new challenges and continuous improvements while maintaining current standards.
